This website provides a virtual space for sharing archival information and community projects related to the life and career of Dr. Roberta Bitgood (1908–2007), American organist, choirmaster, composer, and music educator. Everyone who was familiar with "Dr. B," whether as colleague, friend, or family member, will know that shared experience was at the core of her values — indeed, her ever-widening circle of acquaintances often felt that they, too, were "family." For all of us, the RB Commons is a place to explore the legacy of biographical information and professional materials Roberta has left behind, as well as to reflect on the nature and meaning of that legacy.
